Things to do

WalkingThis part of Spain is very famous for hillwalking and rambling, the mountains locally offer some very challenging walks and mountain climbs. The valleys and river beds offer less strenuous walking, as do the many cork and pine forests which cover the area. Many books have been published on walking in this area and some of them are in the house for you to read.
If you are less confident then there are local walking guides that will run escorted walks for you, this is an ideal way to meet local people and learn something about the area at the same time. Our representatives in Cortes will be pleased to help set this up for you when you arrive. The best time to appreciate the walking opportunities is Spring and Autumn when the weather is dry and not quite so hot. You may well spot one of the rare Spanish Firs (Pinsapo) which are said to date back over 2 million years.
