Frequently asked questions
These are some typical questions that some people have asked, if you
have any other questions please contact us.
What type of weather can we expect in Cortes?
For most of the year you can expect blue skies and sunshine, summer
temperatures normally hover in the low 30’s. The air is cooler
than by the coast, wet season is November. For
specific weather forecasts click here
How long will it take us to drive from the Airport?
Allow 2 hours from Malaga, Seville, and Gibraltar although if the traffic
is quiet it will take you less.
We are coming in a group and we need more space, can you help
us?
Through our contacts in the area we have access to a wide variety of
houses including a very similar one next door. Just ask us and we will
put you in touch with the owners.
Is the driving as difficult as we have heard?
No not at all, the roads are generally well maintained and quiet. Even
in towns it is not as difficult to drive as you may think.
Do I really need a car?
You can have a holiday here without a car but it would be difficult.
The train from Malaga will drop you at the station which is around 4
miles from the house so you would need a taxi. The train will take you
to Ronda, Seville or Grenada to the North and Gibraltar to the south.
What if we have a problem that needs attention?
Our English speaking Agents in the town are available to assist you
with any problems or offer you advice on any aspect of the area. Prior
to your holiday you are welcome to phone us with any questions you have
– we’re here to help.
Is the house child friendly?
Not for toddlers, there are 2 flights of stairs and a roof terrace.
Like all Spanish homes the floors are tiled with terracotta tiles and
could cause injury if a child slipped on them. However, with care there
is no reason why slightly older children could not be accommodated.
Do I bring my own towels?
We will provide bath towels that are changed weekly, you are expected
to bring your own beach towels. Washing facilities are provided if you
want to do any washing.
What about food?
There are 2 small supermarkets in town which will provide everything
that you require. In addition the town also has a fishmonger, a baker
and 2 butchers. If you are down on the coast then you have a choice
of large supermarkets that will sell all the foods you are used to at
home.
Are there any extra charges?
There are no extra charges unless something is broken, in that situation
we would expect you to pay for repair or replacement.
Is there English Television?
The television shows mainly Spanish TV but some English Language stuff
is also shown. There is a selection of videos to watch if you want but
there is so much to do locally that you would have to be seriously bored
to even switch the television on.
What opportunities are there for eating out?
The town has various small Spanish Restaurants and Cafes. The hotel
El Gecko near the Station serves excellent International Cuisine. Molino
del Santo around 15 miles away is equally as good. Ronda has a large
selection of restaurants to suit all tastes.
